Stake.us is a free-to-play sweepstakes casino — no purchase necessary, and it's blocked in a number of US states. Our signup walkthrough covers which.
Read this bit first. We built this game. We earn when you play it, and we earn again if you sign up to Stake through our link. That makes this the single least neutral page on the site, and pretending otherwise would undo the point of everything else here. So: the specs below are lifted straight from the math that ships to Stake's servers, the house edge is printed at the top rather than buried, and nothing on this page will tell you a slot is a way to make money. It isn't. Full disclosure.
The idea
Six reels, five rows, 15,625 ways, tumbles — and one rule that makes it ours: fire spreads. Every Spark Wild on the board ignites one adjacent cell into another Spark on every tumble step. A single Spark in the right cascade becomes a ridge on fire.
The Blaze Gauge
Every ignition climbs the always-visible multiplier ladder: 1× → 2× → 3× → 5× → 8× → 12× → 20× → 30× → 50× → 100×. In the base game it resets each spin. In free spins it persists for the whole round — which changes everything about how a long cascade feels, because the rung you're standing on is never taken away mid-feature.
Two ignition profiles
The two 100× buys aren't a price ladder — they're a choice of fire. Wildfire spreads two cells at a time and climbs steadily. Inferno spreads one cell with bigger gauge steps — fewer ignitions, heavier rungs, wilder variance. Same 96.50% price on both, because they cost the same and we price like it.
Built in a day, honestly
This game went concept → math → art → certification → submission in a single day and passed initial review on the first pass. We publish that not as a stunt but as a receipt: the factory works, the bar didn't move, and every game after this one inherits the standard Wildfire Ridge set.
Developer perspective
Wildfire Ridge went from concept to submitted in a single day — and passed Stake's initial review on the first pass. That's not a brag about speed for its own sake; it's the proof-of-concept for the whole factory. The design is one idea executed cleanly: fire spreads. Every Spark ignites a neighbor on every tumble step, the Blaze Gauge climbs a ladder everyone can see, and the two bonus buys are two ignition profiles — steady spread or violent spread — priced identically because they cost the same. This game also set our internal 'Flagship Mandate': the staging bar every game after it has to clear.
Every way to play it
All modes run at the same 96.50% RTP — buying a feature doesn't buy a better edge, it buys a shortcut past the waiting.
| Mode | Cost | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Base | 1× | Tumbling ways — Sparks spread, Blaze Gauge resets each spin |
| Flame Boost | 1.5× | More Sparks in the base game |
| Wildfire | 100× | Free spins with the 2-cell spread — steadier climbing |
| Inferno | 100× | Free spins with the 1-cell spread — bigger steps, higher variance |
What 96.50% actually means
Every one of our games runs at a 96.50% RTP, which is the same thing as a 3.50% house edge — and you don't have to take our word for it, because Stake prints "Edge: 3.50%" on the game page itself. Go and look.
Here's what that number honestly means, and what it doesn't. Over a very large number of spins, the game is built to return 96.50% of everything staked. So the expected cost of putting a dollar through it is about three and a half cents. That's the price of the entertainment, and it's a fair one by slot standards — plenty of games run worse.
What it does not mean is that you'll get 96.50% back tonight. High volatility means the individual results scatter enormously around that average: long dry stretches punctuated by rare big hits is the intended shape, not a malfunction. A max win is a genuinely rare event. If you want to see what variance does to a bankroll over a session, the Strategy Lab will show you, and it doesn't flatter anybody.
The only advice worth giving: decide what the evening costs before you start, treat it as spent, and stop when you said you would. No spin pattern, bet-sizing system or time of day changes a 3.50% edge. If it stops being fun, here's where to get help.
Where to play it
Wildfire Ridge is live on Stake.us, exclusive to Stake, and built on Stake Engine — Stake's platform for independent studios. It also carries Stake's 2× VIP points multiplier, which is a genuine reason to pick it over another studio's game if you're working a VIP tier.

Questions people actually ask
Is it true this game was built in one day?
Yes — concept to submitted in a single day, first-pass approval on Stake's initial review. The certified math went through the same full verification battery as every game we ship; the factory is fast because the checks are automated, not because they're skipped.
What's the difference between Wildfire and Inferno?
Two ignition profiles at the same 100× price and same 96.50% RTP. Wildfire spreads 2 cells per tumble with steadier gauge climbing; Inferno spreads 1 cell with bigger multiplier steps — fewer ignitions, heavier swings.
Does the Blaze Gauge reset during free spins?
No — that's the point of the feature. It resets per spin in the base game, but across a free-spins round it only climbs. 100× is the top rung.
What's the max win?
10,000× your bet, reached through long cascades on a high Blaze Gauge rung inside free spins. High volatility — the ceiling is rare, and we print that next to it.
